WTM has developed a specific application to be installed on both cable extrusion lines and taping lines for the detection of surface defectviness.
This system analyses the surface of the extruded or taped cable and informs the user in case of inconsistencies.
The system can detetcts the following defects:

- bubbles
- scratches
- cuts
- lumps
- changes of wire diameter
- other types of defects from the cable images acquired in line
The system can find both holes which passes through the cable insulation (which can be found by a spark tester, too) and holes which do not pass throught the insulating layer and thus cannot be find by the spark tester!
The lump functionality can be very useful to find deviations of the cable diameter: it is equivalent to a 3-axes laser.

- 3 high-speed cameras that scan the entire section of the cable;
- Wide aperture lens to allow fast image acquisition;
- 4 led illuminators to guarantee a stable environment for the analysis of the surface;
- Powerful graphical work station to process the management program;
