Infrared cable sintering ovens

For sintering cables insulated by PTFE, polyimide and other tapes or extruded compounds, WTM has developed specific ovens with infrared technology by radiant heaters and panels. The infrared ovens can be purchased individually and integrated into existing taping equipment or in cable taping or rewinding lines.
WTM cable sintering/curing ovens have an automatic opening/closing system, with onward and backward movements during start and stop phases, in order to avoid the cable burning.
The IR ovens has different configuration and dimensions. They can be 1.5, 2 or 3 meters long, and have 3 or 4 independent sintering zones.
The cable heat treating system is completed with cooling and drying units when necessary (by air or by water). An induction pre-heating system can be provided, depending from application.
WTM supports the Customers in the choice of the best sintering solution, according to the specific production needs.
All characteristics can be personalized according to Customer requests.

Details:
  • Maximum temperature: 450 °C (the 1,5-meter long oven) or 550 °C (the 3-meter long oven)
  • Heating tunnel insulated with mineral and ceramic fibres, which external surface not exceed 80-100 °C.
  • Each infrared radiating panel has a dedicated thermocouple, connected to the PLC for its integrity checking.
  • A SCR “zero crossing” regulators and a thermocouple sensor control each sintering zone.
